Cobb PR is celebrating a strong performance in 2023, with early indications that this year will see further growth for the business.

Water companies, local authorities and the digital marketing sector have kept the communications agency busy.

And a team member moving to Miami has given Cobb PR the ability to offer extended office cover until 8pm.

“We are fortunate to have some fantastic clients, and I am so grateful for their ongoing support,” agency founder Tim Cobb said. “We also have a great team of senior account directors who give us great understanding, knowledge and energy for our projects and retained work.”

Southern Water asked Cobb PR to support their stakeholder management team while they recruit new professionals to complement their team. The work involves liaising with MPs, council leaders and officers and organising visits to water treatment works in Sussex.

Cobb PR is also working with the Southern Water/CMDP project team at Bewl Water to promote the arrival of siphons for a faster draw-down of reservoir levels. The £30m project will see three large hydraulic siphons installed during 2024. These siphons are designed to draw down water from the reservoir at a fast pace, allowing for a controlled decrease in its level, if required.

South East Water are working with Cobb PR to organise an event aimed at farmers and landowners in Kent. The workshop aims to highlight the importance of the environment in day-to-day farming activities and discuss grants and match-funding that is available for specific projects.

In the world of digital marketing, global programmatic advertising specialists Crimtan have been using Cobb PR to promote their services to the specialist online and offline media in the UK, America and Europe.

Account Director Florence Smith, who handles the work, said: “Crimtan are at the top of their game and have built up a global reputation for their work. I support the in-house marketing team to ensure that journalists are aware of the great work they do for major brands on a daily basis.”

In 2023, account director Victoria Hermida emigrated to the US to start her married life. But rather than saying goodbye to Vic, Cobb PR investigated the option of using her skills from her home in Miami.

“It has worked out really well, and gives us greater flexibility with our work pattern,” Tim explained. “We can now give 12-hours daily cover for our clients and we are available from 8am to 8pm. Vic clocks on around lunchtime and works through to mid-evening.”

Early indications are that 2024 will be another busy year for the Cobb PR team. “We are holding early-stage talks with a number of Sussex companies and – fingers-crossed – hope to convert a few of them to become Cobb PR clients.”
