An Afternoon at Cobb Lunch Club
14th March 2019With so many different networking events in Sussex it can be difficult to choose where to spend your time. Last month Sussex Business Times joined Cobb Lunch Club at The Dome, Hotel du Vin for its monthly networking event.
The lunch club was formed in 2007, and 12 years later it continues to enjoy a fantastic reputation for excellent networking along with a strong social conscience. Bringing together directors and partners of Sussex businesses with a turnover of £1 million plus, or who employ at least 10 staff, the club is a great chance to meet senior business people at the top of their games.
As well as a delicious lunch and a chance to network, there is also always an interesting speaker. Last month we heard from Glen Foley, a podiatrist who has worked for the special forces supporting the rehabilitation of injured service personnel. Glen worked within the NHS for six years, covering all areas of podiatry. On leaving the NHS he took on a role with the Ministry of Defence at The Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre, Headley Court. Glen spoke about some of the servicemen and women who he’s supported, many of which who have gone on to achieve fantastic things.
As well as hearing from Glen, we also heard from Elizabeth Baxter, Head of Fundraising and Marketing at Care for Veterans – a charity that provides nursing care and rehabilitation to physically disabled ex-Service personnel of all ages.
