Calling All Weekend Rock Stars – When Bands Collide Wants You!
19th October 2016Coffin Mew is on the hunt for Brighton and Hove’s best corporate bands – inviting them to strut their stuff on stage for When Bands Collide, a brand new charity battle of the bands.
Compered by local legend Guy Lloyd, of Juice 107.2 and Britain’s Got Talent fame, When Bands Collide will give the city’s finest corporate talent a chance to raise the roof of The Haunt this February. Competing for glory and the admiration of their peers, as well as for a range of good causes, the victorious band will provide a sizable donation to their chosen charity.
Each band entering must be formed of employees or partners of the company they represent, save for one ringer per band who cannot be a professional musician. Each band will be asked to submit their set list in advance – and with a strict no duplicates policy, it will be first come, first served on song choices.
John Parkinson, Head of Business Development at Coffin Mew has masterminded the event and will fly the flag for the firm, playing drums in its band Clover. He commented: “Businesses of Brighton and Hove, come and have a go if you think you’re hard enough! When Bands Collide is your chance to live out your rock star dreams on stage in front of friends, colleagues and even boardroom rivals.
“It’s a win-win situation. The bands get to show off their talent and their supporters have a great night out. We’re hoping to raise thousands for a selection of worthy charities. To make it even better, there’s an outright ban on dodgy Mustang Sally covers!”
When Bands Collide will take place at The Haunt on 09 February. To enter a band from your business, contact John Parkinson at Coffin Mew, JohnParkinson@coffinmew.co.uk.
