County Business Club Wine of the Month August 2021
8th August 2021Fitz Sparkling White Wine £19
Fitz wine is made locally in Worthing using the same method as made Italian Prosecco, providing a fresher style of English sparkling wine with a more affordable price tag of around £20. The wine makers also enhance the flavour of the wine by aging longer giving it a longer finish more becoming of a brut style wine. Ideal as an aperitif for any party or celebration.
On the nose the wine has delicate floral notes with Elderflower and Honeysuckle. The palate is well balanced and has flavours of Green apple, Stone fruit, Citrus alongside the Floral notes experienced on the nose. A fine persistent mousse akin to Crémant sets it aside from other Charmat production and it has a unique depth and complexity. The wine is crisp and refreshing and has good length and a clean finish.
The South East of England and Sussex in particular are leading the way in sparkling wine production and will compete head to head with many leading Champagnes. Why not try some of our local wines for home BBQ’s and for those special occasions .
