Cube Corner – July 20
9th July 2020My Cube Corner feature this month is from Stuart Noakes and the team at Carpenter Box, I have been working with Staurt for the last 2 ½ years, the accountancy firm based in Worthing, Crawley and have recently taken an office in Brighton.
I hope you are all keeping well. June has seen a number of my clients businesses opening under certain restrictions and finding their way in what may become our new normal way of meeting and networking. It has certainly helped towards my daily step target with many of these becoming outdoor walking meetings.
I met with Vince Pemberton COO of Rivervale at the start of the month and with the resumption of car deliveries from Dealers, they are now fully operational with the workshop and showroom now open. The office has been re-configured to comply with the new regulations so the sales team are slowly getting back together with a hybrid solution of home and office-based staff.
With the announcement of MOT’s no longer being deferred until November the MOT slots are filling fast.
Jason Young and the team at Overline have been busy with the demand of ‘home office’ installations during the past couple of months, the guys are re-locating to new offices in the centre of Worthing, if any of you are in the area at any time please let me know and we can arrange a meeting.
Stuart Noakes and I met at Preston Park for a walking meeting, we were looking forward to a long awaited game of golf until he managed to jam his finger in his garage door… Ouch! NHS to the rescue again!
It was good to catch up in the sunshine at Eastbourne Seafront last week with Bruce Hayter and Victoria Regan from Rix and Kay and Milly Stone from Whitespace to touch base and discuss a small event in Eastbourne for the end of July when hopefully people are more comfortable with face to face meetings. This event will be outdoors so all boxes ticked regarding social distancing. We stopped off at Seaford on the way back to Brighton, again in the sunshine to catch up with James Johnson at Picture Book films. We have been working together for the last couple of months – great timing I know! We have a couple of projects on the go at present for drone and time-lapse photography in Portslade for a Commercial / Residential project. The drone photography is incredible and perfect to add to the website we are working on with Milly Stone at Whitespace.
Finally we had our long awaited game of golf at Hill Barn with Sam Thomas, Bud Johnston Group Marketing Manager at Rivervale and Carl Turner who has recently joined Carnabys Estate Agents up in Haywards Heath. It was a tight game but luckily I partnered Carl who was playing off 23, his run of par, par, par and birdie saw us over the line.
