How will you support the Rockinghorse Christmas Star Appeal?
14th November 2023There are many ways companies can get involved this Christmas to enable Rockinghorse Children’s Charity to reach more children and their families in the local area during the festive period.
Rockinghorse has launched its Christmas Star Appeal again this year. The children’s charity is inviting companies to sponsor a star which will light up the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital with a wonderful projection of ‘stars’. This will ensure that children and their families can still enjoy Christmas and feel more at home during the festive period.
Spending time in hospital over Christmas isn’t fun for anyone, but it’s even worse for children – not knowing if Father Christmas will know where to find them, not being able to enjoy Christmas at home with their family, not to mention being scared and worried about their treatment.
The charity’s aim is to take Christmas to these children by delivering advent calendars and gifts to them in hospital, putting on Christmas parties and festive activities, bringing Santa and donkeys to the hospitals, as well as delivering Christmas meals and hampers to families on Christmas Day.
Tom was in the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital over Christmas and for him and his family it was an extremely worrying time.
He said: “I will always be thankful to the charity for putting a smile on my face and allowing me to make memories over an unfortunate Christmas period.”
Laura, Tom’s Mum, said: “Rockinghorse made our situation so much better and happier for us all by providing gifts for the children and a Christmas dinner for us and we honestly can’t thank them enough. A smile was brought to everyone’s face.”
If you are a local business, you could make the difference to thousands of children in hospital this Christmas.
If you would like to sponsor a ‘Star’, you have many different options. They range from a £500 donation to £5,000. Please see the Rockinghorse website for more details – Rockinghorse Christmas Star Campaign – Rockinghorse Children’s Charity or contact Amanda@Rockinghorse.org.uk
