Sussex Builders Merchants Helps Charity Farm Build
19th June 2017Chandlers Building Supplies celebrated the completion of Chailey Heritage Foundation’s Patchwork Farm project by donating its final fundraising efforts to the Foundation. The money donated is part of the merchants’ ongoing support of Chailey Heritage Foundation.
As one of the main supporters of this pioneering outdoor learning project for young people with complex physical disabilities and health needs, the popular builders merchants not only donated in excess of £4,500 in cash but also provided product and equipment for the build for free or at cost price. Liz Beesley, who works at the Petworth branch of Chandlers Building Supplies, raised the lion’s share of the money.
Sue McKinney of Chandlers Building Supplies said: “We are a [local] family-owned builders merchants and we genuinely care about our community. It is great to support such a marvelous charity that does amazing work with children from a vast catchment area. We are thrilled to see the tremendous end result that is Patchwork Farm.”
Jenny Hanraads of Chailey Heritage Foundations said: “Chandlers Building Supplies is a committed supporter of us and we are very grateful for all its efforts. Patchwork Farm has been a long-term vision and will make a huge difference to the children we support. We are thrilled to have achieved what we have and none of this would have be possible without donors like Chandlers Builders Suppliers.”
The family-run builders merchants, that has 12 branches stretched across the South East and the Midlands, raised the money through an in-store competition and by donating product and equipment.
