The BBC returned to Brighton Racecourse for October
14th November 2025By Jim “Print Lord” Cunliffe
October’s Big Business Breakfast Club saw a triumphant return to Brighton Racecourse, marking the first time the Club had revisited the iconic venue since the Juice Radio days of 2019. With a full house of over a hundred local business leaders, entrepreneurs, and networkers, the morning kicked off in true BBBC fashion – strong coffee, hearty conversation, and that unmistakable buzz of South Coast commerce in motion.
Hosted by Jim “Print Lord” Cunliffe, Sam Thomas, and the irrepressible Steve Darby of Sarson & Darby fame, the event blended camaraderie, comedy, and community with military precision. After breakfast (and the usual round of banter from the stage), Jim welcomed guests with tales from the print realm, reminding everyone to “think Christmas cards and calendars” while thanking those who’d kept the presses hot this season.
The morning’s sponsor, Training Legs First Aid, was front and centre, with Jenny Legg introducing her powerful national awareness campaign Bra Off, Defib On – raising funds and awareness for life-saving defibrillator access. The room rallied, helping push the Club’s cumulative charity total past £8,300, with this month’s £111 donation adding to the impressive running tally.
Marketing maestro Alex Ryan delivered his latest Big Steps for Small Business session, before Sam Thomas sat down for a heartfelt and hilarious conversation with life coach and breathwork expert Sam Adams, whose energy filled the room and had attendees both laughing and reflecting in equal measure.
In keeping with BBBC tradition, new Ambassadors were knighted into the Hall of Fame – Claire Hayden (HaydenSwan Eyecare), Dean Stoner (Base Insurance), Katharine Bristow (Galloways Accounting), Nancy Duckels (Print Lord), and Olivier Nicholas (Performance Coach) – bringing the total to a record-breaking 156 Ambassadors proudly representing the BBBC across Sussex.
The morning closed with over £1,000 worth of raffle prizes, from Print Lord business cards to Brighton Racecourse hospitality tickets, followed by open networking and the promise of ice – literally – as the Club glides to the Royal Pavilion Ice Rink next month for its November meeting.
