The Starr Trust makes a splash at Hove Lagoon
14th September 2016The sun shone brightly on the Starr Trust’s multi sport event on Sunday and 12 teams of local businesses battled it out at Hove Lagoon Watersports to become the champions. This popular fundraising event included paddle boarding, kayak water polo, raft building and sailing, whilst back on dry land, Heals Pirates tested the competitors’ golfing skills on their crazy golf course. The Mayor of Brighton and Hove, Cllr Pete West was delighted to attend and presented the coveted winning trophy to Crunch Accounting.
Families and friends from all over Sussex came along to support the teams and children were kept entertained with trampolines, pedalos, crazy golf and face painting by the lovely Lisa. DJ Spoons from Present Entertainment kept the party going with his music and delicious refreshments were provided by the Big Beach Café.
Starr Trust Events Manager, Rosie told us:
“The day couldn’t have gone any better – glorious sunshine and a fantastic party atmosphere. We are so grateful to all the businesses that took part and also to our event sponsors, Brighton & Hove Buses and to Beales of Worthing for their support. A massive £6000 was raised with monies still coming in, which will help local youngsters achieve their goals in sports, arts and education.”
