The Unmissable Acumen Business Convention – the business event with a twist

This is the widely popular ACUMEN BUSINESS CONVENTION which originated from a team meeting back in 2010 and initially brought around 90 business delegates to the Dome, Brighton, an opportunity that intended to bring the local business community together and open new networking opportunities in Sussex. What followed next could not be imagined even by the organisers themselves!  

Despite its humble beginnings, the convention as we know it today is alive and kicking, now on its 12th run and gathering circa 300 local business delegates, all of whom take advantage of an extraordinary line-up of talks, 3 Speaker Arenas to choose from, a scrumptious sit- down lunch, dazzling live entertainment and ample networking opportunities, all spiced up with Acumen magic and surprises. It is considered to be one of the biggest business events outside of the capital and, as described by a regular attendee, Matt Turner, the owner of an award-winning design and marketing agency, Creative Pod, this is one of the ‘very few events that truly attracts hundreds of top decision-makers and business executives in one room for the whole day’.

As the convention grew, it moved to the prestigious Grand, in the heart of Brighton and overlooking the seafront. The 2022 event is scheduled for the sunny 8th of June, beginning promptly at 10:30am and is set to be the biggest one yet with an international businesswoman, philanthropist, and activist Heather Mills as the headline speaker. She will take centre stage and provide insight on her entrepreneurial journey, the creation and supply of healthier, sustainable, plant-based alternative food, nutrition, and cosmetics. This is coupled with Heather’s tireless charity campaigning that embodies her vehement passion to support those negatively impacted by war and other forms of oppression or physical debilitation in ‘overcoming adversity’. Heather has manifested these goals through the creation of market-leading plant-based businesses and numerous charities across the globe. 

But Acumen is going above and beyond this year! Acumen’s popular TedX-style speaker guests ensure there is something for every business person in the room, all of whom will receive short but punchy inspirational and educational talks across all stages.

Hana Ben-Shabat, a leading Gen Z authority worldwide, will be flying from Manhattan, New York. Anthony Willoughby, a business leader and explorer who sailed half the globe, will share his fascinating story and wisdom. Phil Carr, a hugely successful entrepreneur who started in his nan’s  bedroom and sold his business for an impressive 7-figure sum, will share how he grew, managed and sold his fastest-growing fitness software products all while keeping his head on his neck! The audience will then hear from Karen Dobres, the director of Lewes FC, who will open your eyes to how radical journeys lead to radical results. 

Also on the main stage will be the award-winning novelist and business guru Linzi Boyd, who will share how to switch over to a 21st Century Mindset and Business Model, in line with the rapid industry growth which inevitably affects every business executive.  

Alongside the main stage, the three Arena Stages will be featuring three local heroes; Yaron Engler, Jeremy Jacobs and Brandon Harris, to ensure the spotlight is also given to the great know-how and stories of our local community.
